All Far Cry Games (That I Played) on AMD A4-5000
The Far Cry series has always been known for its open-world FPS gameplay, but playing these games on an AMD A4-5000 with integrated graphics is a real challenge. Here’s my experience with each title and how they performed on this weak hardware.
Far Cry (2004)
Settings: 854x480, High | FPS: 30-50 | Playability: Playable |
The first Far Cry surprisingly ran well on this old APU, providing a stable experience, especially during smaller firefights.
Far Cry 2 (2008)
Settings: 800x600m Low | FPS: 25-40 | Playability: Playable |
There were occasional FPS drops, but overall, it was playable as long as there weren’t too many enemies on screen.
Far Cry 3 (2012)
Settings: 800x600, Low | FPS: 10-20 | Playability: Semi-playable |
Even at the lowest settings, it barely ran. The constant stuttering made it more of a struggle than an enjoyable experience.
Far Cry 4 (2014)
Settings: 854x480, Low | FPS: Under 10 | Playability: Unplayable |
Not even config file tweaks could help—it was a complete slideshow and totally unplayable on this hardware.
Conclusion
The AMD A4-5000’s integrated graphics can barely handle the early Far Cry games, while later entries become completely unplayable. If you’re trying the series on this hardware, Far Cry 1 and Far Cry 2 are the only realistic options for a decent experience.
